Nightclubs

Are you the ultimate clubber or just the kind of person who likes a weekend away from home to check the nightlife out somewhere else for a change?

Or maybe you’re the type of person whos out to club and live life to the max, or possibly the casual kind of clubber who goes out on occasional weekends?

Whatever nightlife that satisfies your need, Newquay is the 'happening' place to be and will do just that. Through the eyes of the younger generation as well as the more mature this small town situated in Cornwall is the ideal place to let your hair down for the weekend and to enjoy its clubs and pubs no matter what your age group.

Although if you prefer to experience the quieter side of Newquay then there's still plenty to keep you occupied such as the beaches and coastal walks, but as my opinion states I'm here to give the low down on Newquays nightlife so I shall begin.

Newquay holds a varied nightlife to satisfy even the fussiest of people. So I will start with the two clubs which provide an excellent variety of music to provide a great night out for everyone to enjoy.

Newquay is a great place to go as the nightlife is great, you get many stag/hen parties there and it is very easy to make friends. The locals are very laid back and, according to my cabbie, for the amount of people who visit the violence and trouble is quite low.

Newquay Nightclub Guide

Berties

This place is rocking! It is a pub with an adjoining club that opens until 2am. On a Monday night it is bargain night. This club has varied music in separated rooms and the lively atmosphere is suited to everyone. The layout is classy and well designed with three rooms consisting of a main Dance/trance room being the biggest and most popular of the three, an RnB room and a dance/pop room.

Around the three dance floors the clever design really starts to show with its cornered off seating areas each having its own bar where you can sit down talk and drink if you choose not to dance. The design and style provides clubbers with comfort and class but also at the same time space, which is important.

The RnB room is small compared to the rest of the club but provides huge leather sofas and a great style of music including some Hip Hop, great if you want to take a rest and chill out for a while. This room is also provided with its own bar for ease of use.

The new Dance/pop room is a very different style from the rest of the clubs rooms. It has a slightly 70's feel to it with its bright and colourful lights and huge red velvet sofas situated around the edge of the room below strangely shaped windows giving a view across into the main dance area. The toilets are very classy and clean, with mirrored walls and plenty of private cubicles, especially important if you've had one to many to drink and are feeling on the slightly queasy side!!

The only downsider of the design in Berties is the amount of steps, definitely not a positive aspect when you're very drunk and cant focus let alone walk straight. But who would want to be seen drunk these days?

The atmosphere all in all in Berties is mixed depending on each and every room you enter. In general its lively, full of young ''up for it'' people looking for a good night out with varied music to suit everybodys taste.

The Bouncers make you feel very welcome and are friendly but there is a fairly strict dress code in Berties which consists of no trainers, no t-shirts and men are not allowed on the podium or to take their shirts off.

The price of drink is roughly the same as many other clubs although it may be slightly more expensive, but there are drink deals before 11.00pm which work out to be a good deal and end up saving you enough money to buy another drink. The only nights which tend to be cheaper, and this is fairly sexist admittedly, are for women only on Friday and Saturday nights that are dedicated to 'Ladies night' and they will receive cheaper entry. Expect to queue for 30 minutes upward during the popular summer months.

Buzios

This is the place to just relax. Open all day and night. The interior is posh; leather smooth cubicles and the rest.

On three levels, Buzios is quite large in size. First floor is the bar and main seating area. They serve food until the evening and with the large French Doors open with the sun shining you can't beat it. Second Floor is the club floor, only open in the evening with a DJ with selected drink Promotions.

The Third Floor is the Pool Tables. About 8 Pool Tables and two US 8 Ball tables. £1 per game or £6 per hour. There is a bar on this floor as well.

The Beach

A quote from one of our readers "It's soo hot, rapid, cheap, amazing, and such a good nite."

4 Bars, 3 Floors, 2 DJs. The place is tiny, in the centre of newquay just off Central Square in amongst all the banks and bars but the mirrors on the walls make it seem a lot larger. The main room has podiems and poles and there is a more relaxing bar upstairs with relaxing seating where you can chill out. Its packed every night in the summer, and plays some good tunes. On Sunday night they have a excellent foam party, which I have attended on numberous occasions! In the summer bikini clad girls can be foun literally getting soaked, and having lots of fun! Not for the feint hearted! ;-)

During the week they hold a ladies night, student nite, beach nite etc. Brilliant for the price, even if you just go for a few drinks. It's definatly a place to go when out on the town in newquay.

The Central

As you may have guessed, this pub is in the middle of the town. Many seats outside and many more in this pub is a great place to have a few drinks. Big deals on the Vodka & Red Bull Pitchers.

The Chy

The Chy is another of the classier bars with the nice furniture ideal to chill out to in the afternoon. There is a balcony overlooking the beach that is great on a nice day. Watch out for the seagulls though, if you manage to keep your food to yourself they are guaranteed to leave a ‘memento' on your clothing/head/food.

Sailors

A trip to Newquay isn't complete without a night out at the Sailors, a world famous and a world class venue.

Sailors is a 1200 capacity multi-levelled venue with five bars on four levels Renowned for its very attractive bar staff both male and female, is one of the liveliest nightclubs in Newquay attracting both tourists and locals alike.

The club has an amazing party atmosphere, and it's not only full of teenagers! The club has a very mixed age group, so don’t be put of by the young girls in the queue not wearing much!

Sailors a great pick up spot so if you are single you will defiantly enjoy yourself as there are normally plenty of other single people up for fun!

During the summer months the club can get over run with tourists which isn’t a problem after all everyone is out to have fun, and its always amusing to see all the stag and hen night costumes!

The price to get into the club depends on the night and the time of the year, the average price is £4 but can cost more at the weekend during the summer. See flyers for more information. Also look out for people handing flyers out around town with discounts on to get into the club, its definately worth it.

Sailors Pub

Next door to Sailors nightclub is sailors pub, serving food throughout the day. At night it has a small dance floor. Quite often you can get express entry to the club if you have been in to the pub.

If you decide to go just remember that in the summer the queues can get long so try and get there fairly early as the price also goes up after a certain time.

Tall Trees

Famous for its foam parties this is an excellent venue for those who enjoy a variety of music.

The main club has two floors. The upper floor of the club has state of the art lighting, a very large central dance floor, ample seating areas and a Cocktail and Champagne bar. The 2nd floor has a more intimate atmosphere.

There is a lot of seating around both the dance floors if you just wanna chill out and have a few drinks. and many small bars meaning quick service and little queuing. Both floors offer waitress service and each has a VIP area.

Tall Trees is extremely busy during the summer months so it come become very crowded and very hot. The grunge floor can

Newquay is obviously more busy during the Summer months which is expected as it is a popular Tourist area in Cornwall so as with many attractions the price goes up in these months and its just the same for clubs. Expect to pay £7 plus in the summer and around £4 in the winter, queuing times range from 20 minutes to 45 and upward.

A good club with a busy atmosphere and a good range of music to suit most people. Again it’s a fairly popular club in Newquay and my opinion is it's worth a try but not before Berties!

Walkabout

Newquays fun busy theme pub, from a great valued meal out to catching up on the sport with your mates. open all day till 2am the walkabout screens live sports events and often has live bands which draw in the crowds.
